The Intermountain Power Project
Description:

One of the larger coal fired electrical generating plants in the world is the IPP plant near Delta. It consumes 5,000,000 tons of coal per year (10 tons per minute). It has the capacity to produce 1,775 MW and employs about 490 people. The coal comes from Eastern Utah, from Cretaceous beds, mostly from the Blackhawk Formation.
