Description:

Fumeral Butte is the official name, but most local residents call it “the Hot Plug.” It is a shield volcano, created by repeating lava flows emerging from a central vent. It is not particularly high but about 10 miles in diameter. The region is still geologically active as evidenced by nearby Baker Hot Springs.
